If you’re staring at a bin of Skylanders with green bases, you’re looking at the “OGs”—the original characters from Spyro’s Adventure. While millions of these were made, most were bundled into starter packs. The real money is in the “single-pack” releases that came out later in the game’s life.
At the top of the pile, these are common, but don’t be fooled—there is gold hidden in here. For a look at the absolute rarest of the rare across the whole franchise, check out our Master List of the Top 25 Most Valuable Skylanders and save our Skylander Base Color Cheat Sheet to your phone.

🕵️♂️ Notes from the Field: The Joy of the “Big Lot”
There is no better feeling than bringing home a heavy bag of Skyland Figures from a thrift store and dumping them out on the table. It’s like being a kid again, but this time, you’re hunting for profit.
My Sorting Strategy: Whenever I land a big haul, I follow a simple rule: Hunt the High, Lot the Low. I scan the pile for those “Top 10” heavy hitters first. Anything that sells for over $10 gets its own individual listing. Anything under $10? I start “lotting” them together by element or game set. It’s the fastest way to clear inventory and keep the cash flowing.
The Top 10 Green-Base “Standard” Wins
- Wham-Shell: $25 – $35. The king of the green bases. He was the last figure released, making him the rarest “standard” find.
- Ghost Roaster: $15 – $25. Only found in the “Darklight Crypt” pack. Look for the skeleton in the chef hat!
- Camo: $12 – $18. A fan-favorite dragon made of roots.
- Boomer: $10 – $15. A troll with dynamite. Often overlooked because he looks like a generic “bad guy.”
- Sunburn: $10 – $15. The only dragon-phoenix hybrid in the game.
- Warnado: $8 – $12. A spinning turtle that was released in the later waves.
- Dino-Rang: $8 – $12. A green dinosaur with boomerangs.
- Voodood: $7 – $10. A magic warrior with a skull mask.
- Zook: $7 – $10. A plant creature with a bamboo bazooka.
- Slam Bam: $6 – $9. The four-armed yeti.

⚠️ The Sticker Nightmare (And How to Fix It)
We’ve all seen it. You find a rare Wham-Shell, but the thrift store decided to put the price sticker right in the nooks and crannies—usually deep in the molded plastic where it’s impossible to peel.
Pro-Tip: Don’t try to pick at it with your fingernail! You’ll just scratch the paint and drop the value. This is where a soft toothbrush and Un-Du Sticker remover save the day. It’s the only way to get those crusty stickers off without damaging the treasure.
🛠️ The Hunter’s Toolkit: My “Secret Weapons”
To get top dollar on eBay, you need to prep your finds. Here is the exact gear I use to run Everyday Treasure Hunters:
- For Testing: You don’t need to own the game to check if a figure works. I use this Portable NFC Reader. It connects to your phone and tells you instantly if the chip is “alive.” If a buyer ever claims a chip is dead, I verify it, but thanks to checking them beforehand, I rarely have that problem!
- For Shipping: When “Lotting the Low,” weight is everything. I use this Digital Shipping Scale to make sure I’m not overpaying for labels.
- For Storage: I keep my sorted inventory in Clear Stackable Bins so I can see my stock at a glance and keep the dust off.
